About Noir Lingerie

Simply put, Noir was born out of frustration.  The frustration us women know as ‘trying to find perfect lingerie’.  Lingerie is the first thing a woman puts on each day and according to me it has a responsibility to make us feel formidable, even invincible.  I'm sure you'll agree, if you're wearing a comfortable bra you feel like you can conquer the world.  So when I found myself getting annoyed in the shops because the items I loved weren’t in my price bracket, yet everything in my price bracket was ugly or fitted badly, I realised there was a need for change.  Listening to my lady friends and family, it seemed it wasn’t just me with this issue.  So I started making lingerie.  Lacey, beautiful, comfortable, light yet supportive lingerie.  I made a set for myself and then started sewing sets for family and friends and before I knew it, Noir was born.

The name?  Noir is French for ‘black’, but my version goes beyond that, my Noir isn’t just ‘black knickers’.  Noir is a concept and if you search for the word online, you’ll notice it belongs mostly to a classic movie genre consisting of femme fatales, long cigarette filters and tiny guns.  I believe that every woman is a femme fatale in her own right.  Each one of us is our own version of formidable and feisty.  I believe in the sisterhood.  What that means, is that I will always encourage lady-folk to find their force and fight for it if necessary, but mostly it means that I just want to see ladies happy with the lingerie they put on in the morning.

My ideal version of Noir is for the beautiful, provocative women in our lives to overcome all odds, all while wearing comfy undies and wicked heels…
